Beer-Battered Jalapeños

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons garlic power
Salt and pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 cup beer, preferably a lager or pilsner
3-5 fresh jalapeños, sliced, plus oil for frying

Directions:
Combine flour, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and egg in a medium bowl. Whisk in beer. In a large pan, heat enough oil to cover the pan (oil should be about 1 inch deep) to 300. Dip jalapeños in batter, then fry in oil 60 seconds per side or until golden brown. Remove from heat and sprinkle with additional salt if desired.
