Ingredients:
12-15 wings, plus canola or vegetable oil for frying (or bake wings at 400°F for 45-60 minutes or until 165 degrees)
4 tablespoons brown sugar barbecue sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray’s)
1 1/2 tablespoons sweet cola, such as Dr. Pepper or Cherry Coke
1/2 teaspoon dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Directions:
Fill a large skillet with oil (about 1 1/2 inches in depth). Heat oil to 350. Cook wings 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until internal temperature reaches 165 Fahrenheit. (Internal temperature is important, as thickness of wings will affect cook time – if wings are fully submerged in oil, cook time will be less).
Meanwhile, combine barbecue sauce, cola, brown sugar, and paprika in a small pan. Heat on low on until flavors combine, 3-5 minutes.
Remove wings from oil and season with salt. Toss in sauce and serve.
